Hello! Some of you know me already, but I'm about to post some questions about Murmurations, so I'll formally de-lurk first.
My name is Nick, I do technical work for the Solidarity Economy Association in Oxford, UK (via my freelancer tech cooperative Code-Operative). Although I live in Edinburgh.
Another reason to de-lurk is to mention to @Jennifer that mapping the Solidarity Economy is exactly what the SEA do, see Solidarity Oxford, for example. (Also, Mersey Green Map, the NewBridge Project.) More about this on the thread you started here.
We aim to provide the data in an open (linked) data format, specifically RDF (in XML, Turtle formats and maybe soon, JSON-LD too). Descriptions use terms in a linked-data vocabulary designed for the solidarity economy, called ESSGLOBAL, although this is in need of some maintenance, which we are slowly addressing. (See also A DCAP for the Social and Solidarity Economy, which may give some background to that).
And also we have membership maps for the ICA and the .coop domain registry.
I'm currently looking into creating a schema and hooking up our curated lists of SE initiatives to Murmurations' indexes. Our lists are not currently managed by the individual members, who often don't have the resources, but by a more centralised group who keeps track. We are also planning to to try publishing maps of the Murmuration's indexes, using our map software. I'll post on a separate thread about that here.
